DataPoint

The values of a series at one point on each of the two time axes, as resolved by the dataPoint query.

A data point is the unit in which the catalog publishes a change: all values of a series are versioned together, so they share one validFrom and one knownFrom and can never be read at inconsistent states of the two time axes.

Felder

validFrom: LocalDate!

The date from which the values of this data point apply as a matter of law: the first day of the validity interval that this data point opens.

This is a property of the data point, not of the series: the earliest validity date the series covers at all is Series.coveredFrom.

knownFrom: LocalDate!

The date from which this data point was known to the catalog: the day on which its values were published here. For a value that was corrected retroactively, this date is later than its validFrom.

Together with validFrom it identifies the exact version of the value that answered the query, which is what makes a past run reproducible.

values: [DataPointValue!]!

The values that apply for the requested combination of validOn and knownOn — one entry per value part of the series, so for the reference value of German social insurance one entry for the annual and one for the monthly amount.

Which keys appear follows from the series, not from the individual data point: by convention of the catalog, every data point of a series carries the same value parts. Nothing in the API enforces this, and the order of the entries is the order of the catalog entry rather than a guaranteed part of the contract — address a value by its key, never by its position.

The list itself is never null; a dataPoint query that finds no data point returns null for the whole DataPoint instead.

legalSources: [LegalSource!]!

The legal sources on which the values of this data point rest, each with its role and the exact provision.

The list is the evidence for the values: it names the provision that defines the calculation value, the one that authorizes fixing its amount, the one that states it, and the amendments needed to read them in their current version. By convention of the catalog, every data point carries at least one source with role DECLARING.

The sources belong to the data point, not to the series, so a correction published later can rest on different sources. The order is the order of the catalog entry and not a guaranteed part of the contract.
